Everton Looking To Sign Young English Goalkeeper?

Everton and a host of other clubs are keeping an eye on 22 year old Newcastle United Goalkeeper Freddie Woodman according to the Newcastle Chronicle

Woodman hasn’t made an appearance for Newcastle as of yet since moving there in 2013 from Crystal Palace and the youngster only has a year left on his contract. He was denied a chance to go out on loan in the January transfer window due to contract situation.

Everton are said to be one of a number of teams keeping an eye on Woodman’s situation and would be interested in signing him. Arsenal, Celtic and Fulham are also interested him

Reports yesterday stated that Marcel Brands will look to sign a back up keeper in the summer to push Jordan Pickford and keep him on his toes.

Transfer rating; 2/5 – A promising youngster who looks like he could become a top goalkeeper, but I can’t see Everton being the club to sign him. He’s not really experienced enough to become our back up keeper and I don’t think he would be happy sitting on the bench week in week out. I imagine Everton will look to sign an older goalkeeper within or just before their prime
