Everton and their search for a striker looks set to continue this summer transfer window with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun being our only strikers at the moment.
According to British newspaper The Daily Mail Everton are interested in signing Venezuela striker Salomon Rondon.
Rondon who is currently on loan at Newcastle this season from Championship side Weat Brom is keen to leave the Hawthorns and has admitted that he would like to stay at St. James’ Park once his loan finishes come the end of the season, but Newcastle’s financial situation isn’t the best with Mike Ashley at the helm.
The 29 year old is Newcastle’s top goal scorer with 10 goals in the League and Cup competitions as well as 5 assists.
His age might be a factor though as we know Marcel Brands and Marco Silva are keen on bringing younger players to Everton. Would Everton be willing to pay the reported £16M for a player who is turning 30 this year and we’ll get a good year or 2 out of.
Transfer Rating; 1/5 – Everton will probably and hopefully be aiming for a striker a lot better than Rondon so we can’t see this one happening
