Match Preview | Everton v West Ham

Saturday’s game is pivotal for how the season pans out for Everton. The manager’s jobs on the line, and it’s a chance to show everyone the start to the season was nothing more than a blip. There would be plenty more games you’d pick before West Ham at home if you need a win. Marco Silva himself has labelled the game as ‘must win’ following four consecutive defeats to Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Burnley.

Every player who went on international duty our unharmed and fit to feature Saturday, with some players having more luck than others with the National sides, Alex Iwobi registered two assists, Lucas Digne received Man of the match for the world champions and Tom Davies captained England’s under 23’s to victory. Contrastingly, Seamus Coleman and Moise Kean both got sent off and Gylfi Sigurdsson missed a penalty over  break.

For team news, there is no JP Gbamin for a further few months following news of his injury set back and following this, Fabian Delph is also ruled out through injury. Seamus Coleman will also miss the game through suspension.

Jordan Pickford will remains between the sticks, Sidibe is likely to make his first Premier League start at RB alongside Yerry Mina, Mick Keane and Lucas Digne in defence. The two midfield players will be selected between Tom Davies, Andre Gomes and Morgan Schneiderlin. Now, the final four positions is where it gets interesting. Bernard, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Iwobi, Calvert-Lewin, Kean and perhaps Anthony Gordon all battling it out for the four positions. Sigurdsson is unlikely to be dropped, same with Richarlison so it’s really between Bernard and Iwobi and Kean and Calvert-Lewin for the final two positions, I think the former for both will start.

Predicted line up; Pickford; Sidibe, Mina, Keane, Digne; Davies, Gomes; Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Bernard; Kean.

For West Ham, Declan Rice returns from illness, whereas Antonio, Fabianksi and Reid are the only absentees for the visitors.

Last seasons games against West Ham where both won by the away side, the Hammers won 1-3 at Goodison with Sigurdsson scoring for the Blues that day, and then Everton won 0-2 at Olympic Stadium with Bernard and Zouma scoring.

Everton have a good record against the Londoners and everyone, but especially Marco Silva will be hoping this stays the same Saturday in the must win game.

Score prediction: Everton 3-1 West Ham

Kean, Digne, Sigurdsson
