EVERTON SIGN MARTINA PIEMONTE

Italy international striker Martina Piemonte has completed a move to Everton from AC Milan, agreeing a two-year contract with the Club until the end of June 2025.

The 25-year-old becomes the Blues’ first summer signing after spending two successful years with the Milan giants and following her best goalscoring season to date in 2022/23, netting 14 times and registering four assists in just 24 appearances.

Piemonte has 13 caps for her country and, despite her relatively young age, the exciting forward has already built an impressive CV, also playing for Sevilla, Roma, Real Betis and Fiorentina.

A powerful, hard-working forward with an eye for goal, Piemonte will bring a new dimension to Brian Sorensen’s Everton attack.

“I am so happy to be here,” Piemonte told evertontv. “What I want to achieve is put Everton in a position to win, working together with the manager and everyone else at the Club.

“I think Everton in investing in women’s football. They did well this year and will want to do even better in the future. I will also have the opportunity to play in one of the best leagues in the world.”

Piemonte becomes just the second Italian player to move to the Women’s Super League after Blues midfielder Aurora Galli.

The new Blue admitted manager Sorensen’s faith in her talents was a big factor in her decision to join his ever-improving squad.

“He believes a lot in me and I will do my very best to return his trust,” added Piemonte. “He has a great project and I will do my very best to score as many goals as possible and win together as a team.

“I’m also very excited to find a nice environment that welcomes me and I can’t wait to get to know the Everton fans because they will be my family.”

After capturing his first signing of the summer, Sorensen said: “Martina has every attribute you need to be an Everton player.

“Her physicality, composure on the ball and an eye for goal makes her an excellent addition to our squad.

“She is rich in experience playing in Italy but also experiencing a career abroad in Spain.

“It’s clear she is ready for the next step in her career, and I’m delighted she is doing that at Everton.

“I look forward to working with her ready for the new season.”
