Metcalfe returns! Crellin and Tyrer Flying!

Billy Crellin Accrington Stanley

League Two:

Billy Crellin- Accrington Stanley- 19th out of 24

Crellin had a week to remember for Stanley, keeping back-to-back clean sheets as The Reds moved eight points clear of the relegation zone.

The goalkeeper was in fine form to deny promotion-chasing Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, before recording his seventh shut-out of the season at home to Cheltenham Town in midweek.

John Doolan’s side travel to Port Vale next, looking for another away-day upset.

Jenson Metcalfe- Chesterfield- 9th out of 24

Metcalfe was back in action for the first time since early November, marking his return with four points from two games.

The midfielder sustained a foot injury before the turn of the year, subsequently ruling him out of the last 15 fixtures having made a bright start to his loan.

The 20-year-old was re-introduced to the side as a late substitute against Port Vale last weekend, before stepping up his recovery with another appearance from the bench in Tuesday night’s 3-0 home win over Bromley.

Chesterfield are away to Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

Francis Okoronkwo- Salford City- 8th out of 24

Okoronkwo remains side-lined with a suspected long-term injury, missing Salford’s three-game winless run.

Back-to-back defeats before a frustrating home draw to Newport County saw The Ammies drop out of the play-off spots, having occupied an automatic promotion place just two weeks prior.

Karl Robinson’s side face table-topping Walsall next.

League One:

Harry Tyrer- Blackpool- 13th out of 24

Harry Tyrer Blackpool

Tyrer kept his eighth clean sheet of the season on Tuesday, as Blackpool stretched their unbeaten run to six games.

The Tangerines are yet to lose in 2025, with the goalkeeper playing a key role in the club’s impressive form, not least over the weekend, with two excellent performances in wins over Exeter and Lincoln City.

Tyrer is set to start again on Saturday, as Bloomfield Road plays host to Charlton Athletic.

Championship:

Mason Holgate- West Bromwich Albion- 5th out of 24

Holgate started the Baggies’ comfortable 5-1 win over Portsmouth, with the defender even registering an assist for the hosts’ fourth goal.

The defender’s through ball laid on Grady Diangana, who made no mistake to put the game out of Pompey’s reach before the half was over.

West Brom travel to relegation-threatened Plymouth Argyle next, looking to consolidate their spot in the play-offs.

Scottish Premiership:

Elijah Campbell- Ross County- 10th out 12

Ross County salvaged a late point at home to Hibernian thanks to an 87th minute Ronan Hale spot kick, with Campbell featuring once more.

Don Cowie’s side visit Ibrox next, looking to spring a shock against Rangers.

Ligue 1:

Neal Maupay- Marseille- 2nd out of 18

Maupay was substituted in the 61st minute of Marseille’s disappointing 2-0 away defeat to Nice, following another poor display.

The striker was hooked by Roberto de Zerbi for the second successive game, as his team lost pace in their title effort, now sitting ten points behind leaders PSG.

They welcome Lyon to the Stade Velodrome on Sunday.
