A quiet week for many loanees with the second international break of the campaign underway, here’s how those still competing got on.
League Two:
Billy Crellin- Accrington Stanley- 22nd out of 24
Crellin continued his run in the starting XI with a second consecutive win, as Accrington jumped out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.
John Doolan’s side secured all three points at the death, as Dara Costelloe netted the winner in the 94th minute away at Gillingham.
The Reds now prepare to face Barrow at home on Saturday, with the goalkeeper searching for his first clean sheet for the club.
Jenson Metcalfe- Chesterfield- 12th out of 24
Metcalfe was back in the side for Chesterfield’s third successive 2-2 draw, playing 69 minutes against Notts County.
The midfielder was carded on the hour mark, before being subbed off with the sides level at one apiece.
The Spireites travel to Newport County on Friday night, in a midtable clash.
Francis Okoronkwo- Salford City- 16th out of 24
Okoronkwo was subbed on for Salford’s 2-1 home defeat to Grimsby Town, with the forward unable to have the desired impact in his half-hour cameo.
Karl Robinson’s side take on Crewe Alexandra next.
Championship:
Mason Holgate- West Bromwich Albion- 4th out of 24
Holgate made his debut for Jamaica during the international break, appearing as a late substitute in a 2-0 CONCACAF Nations League win over Nicaragua.
The defender is yet to feature for the Baggies this season, however received his first call-up to the national team from Steve McClaren last week.
The 27-year-old will now return to West Brom, who face Oxford United on Saturday.
Scottish Premiership:
Elijah Campbell- Ross County- 4th out of 24
U21 Defender Elijah Campbell made his England U20 debut after coming off the bench for the final 10 minutes in England’s 2-1 win against Italy U20 in the Elite League. Campbell then went on to come off the bench in the 74th minute helping the Young Lions to see out a 3-0 victory over Czechia Under-20s
International Break:
Harry Tyrer, Tyler Onyango, Neal Maupay and Reece Welch were all afforded a week off during the break, with their respective clubs out of action.
