Loan Report: An Onyekuru brace and a couple of debuts – 12th September 2017

Well now the international break is over and the football is back it’s time for another loan round up to see just how the young blues out on loan have fared for the week.

Henry Onyekuru – Anderlecht

Nigerian forward Henry scored a brace for Anderlecht as the Belgian side ran out 3-2 winners over Lokeren on Friday. These where Henry’s first goals for the Belgian side. Henry opened the scoring after just three minutes and then with 13 minutes remaining bagged an equaliser to make it 3-2, there was further late joy for Henry as Anderlecht scored a late winner to completely turn the game.

Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning – Sunderland

Both Tyias and Brendan completed 90 minutes as Sunderland lost 1-2 at Home to Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United on Saturday. The Black Cats are 20th in the championship, with 5 points.

Kieran Dowell – Nottingham Forest

Inconsistency is holding Kieran Dowell back from cementing a regular starting place in Forest’s XI, as on Saturday Kieran featured in the final 27 minutes of Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, a result which leaves Forest 12th, their next game is an away trip to Tyias’ and Brendan’s Sunderland.

Joe Williams – Barnsley

After a Man-of-the-match performance last time out against Sunderland, Joe put in another shrewd performance for Barnsley as they grafted to a well deserved 1-1 draw away at Preston. The result leaves Barnsley in 15th position.

Antonee Robinson – Bolton

Antonee made his League debut for Bolton in their 0-3 home defeat to high-flying Middlesbrough, Antonee played the whole 90 and received a small heap of praise for his debut performance, the result leaves Bolton 24th and winless after 6 games, in what could be a long long season for Bolton.

Liam Walsh – Birmingham

Liam Walsh made his Championship debut as Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham lost out to Norwich 1-0. Liam was replaced shortly before the hour mark.

Callum Connolly – Ipswich Town

Callum made his Ipswich debut and completed the whole 90 minutes as Ipswich where defeated 2-1 by Queens Park Rangers, despite the result Ipswich remain 4th.

Matthew Pennington – Leeds

Matthew missed out on Leeds’ 5-0 demolishing of Burton Albion again through injury, however has returned to Full training.

Conor Grant – Crewe

Conor missed out on Crewe’s 5-1 thumping of Chesterfield through a head injury he suffered on his debut a week earlier.
