Bundesliga
Jonjoe Kenny – Schalke
Kenny had a bit of a tough one this week, being on the end of a 5-0 defeat at Bayern Munich. He was dribbled past twice but did make seven clearances, and was brought off with ten minutes to go.
La Liga
Sandro Ramirez – Real Valladolid
SANDRO SCORED! YES, SCORED! PAST THE GOAL LINE! SANDRO! THE ONE WHO IS ON LOAN FROM US! The Spaniard bagged his second of the season in a 2-1 Copa del Rey defeat at Tenerife. Not having a bad time of it is our Sandro, whose last two Copa games have been away at Marbella and Tenerife. Some people save up all year for one of those, and I won’t even mention what money he’s still on from us.
He was absent from the squad who were beaten 1-0 at home by Real Madrid with an illness.
In other Sandro-related news, I genuinely saw one Barça fan on Twitter this week suggest signing him as cover for Luis Suárez. If there’s any truth in that, I’ll genuinely pay for a taxi from Goodison to Camp Nou.
Eredivisie
Shani Tarashaj – FC Emmen
Still no sign of the striker at all. Emmen drew 1-1 at Vitesse.
Belgian First Division A
Fraser Hornby – KV Kortrijk
The Scottish striker was an unused substitute in both of his club’s games this week, a 1-1 draw at Royal Antwerp and a 2-2 draw against Club Brugge. Surely he could be on the bench for us rather than for them, ahead of a certain Oumar Niasse.
Primeira Liga
Yannick Bolasie – Sporting CP
After having his last red card rightly overturned, Bolasie was sent off again last weekend after VAR adjudged him to have committed violent conduct. He’d only come off the bench 15 minutes earlier, as well. Give the man a break.
Premier League
Muhamed Bešić – Sheffield United
The Bosnian is finally getting a run of games under Chris Wilder, and rewarded his manager with a beautiful goal in the 2-0 FA Cup victory at Millwall. He started against Manchester City in the Premier League last week too, and had a passing accuracy of 81%.
Cenk Tosun – Crystal Palace
Tosun started up front for Palace in the 2-0 defeat to Southampton last week but was subbed off on 69 minutes after missing a big chance and having no shots on target. Back down to earth after a scoring debut against Manchester City.
Championship
Kieran Dowell – Wigan Athletic
Wigan’s game against Sheffield Wednesday was postponed this week due to a fixture clash.
Josh Bowler and Matthew Pennington – Hull City
Both players were ruled out of the FA Cup against Chelsea with injury this week, as the Tigers went down 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
League One
Luke Garbutt – Ipswich Town
Garbutt got another assist in his side’s 1-0 win over Lincoln City, in a positive performance from the wing-back which included three key passes and just as many attempts at goal.
Nathan Broadhead – Burton Albion
Broadhead returned to Finch Farm for medical attention to a hamstring problem last week, but should be back playing for Burton at some point soon.
Callum Connolly – Fleetwood Town
Connolly helped his side win a clean sheet from centre-back as his loan side drew 0-0 at Bristol Rovers. He made five clearances, blocked a shot, and even managed a key pass as well.
