Metcalfe’s first senior goal! Armstrong in relegation dogfight!

Jenson Metcalfe Celebrates Chesterfield Town Goal

League Two:

Billy Crellin- Accrington Stanley- 21st out of 24

Crellin remained sidelined for both of Accrington’s Easter weekend fixtures, after picking up an injury in early April.

The goalkeeper has missed each of Stanley’s last three matches, as The Reds all but confirmed safety, with a win over Salford City and a home draw with relegation rivals Carlisle United.

John Doolan’s side travel to Walsall on Saturday.

Jenson Metcalfe- Chesterfield- 10th out of 24

Metcalfe netted his first senior goal on Monday with a right-footed strike from the edge of the box as Chesterfield picked up a vital point against high-flying Bradford City.

The midfielder opened his account on the stroke of half-time, curling the ball into the top-right corner to give the hosts a foot back into the game.

Metcalfe registered an assist for The Spireites’ second, too, laying it on a plate for Will Grigg with an impressive through-ball, before Liam Mandeville completed the comeback in added time.

Chesterfield host already-relegated Morecambe next, with their play-off hopes still intact.

Francis Okoronkwo- Salford City- 9th out of 24

Okoronkwo was absent from the Salford squad in a mixed week for The Ammies, as they suffered a shock defeat to Accrington Stanley before comfortably beating Morecambe to leave them two points outside the top seven.

Karl Robinson’s side face Colchester United at The Peninsula Stadium on Saturday.

League One:

Harry Tyrer- Blackpool- 10th out of 24

Tyrer was between the sticks for both of Blackpool’s games last weekend, as The Seasiders’ promotion hopes came to an end after Monday’s 2-1 home defeat to Wrexham.

The goalkeeper makes the short trip to Wigan Athletic next, looking to end a solid campaign in style.

Championship:

Mason Holgate- West Bromwich Albion- 10th out of 24

Holgate started The Baggies’ disappointing loss to Derby County, as they lost touch with the play-off spots after a dismal run of form.

The 28-year-old was withdrawn on 63 minutes as the hosts chased the game, but it was The Rams who added to their tally with the game ending 3-1. The Baggies sacked Head Coach, Tony Mowbray after the defeat.

West Brom are away to Cardiff City on Saturday as James Morrison takes Interim charge for the final two games of the season.

Harrison Armstrong- Derby County- 21st out of 24

Armstrong played in both of Derby’s fixtures last weekend, as John Eustace’s side bounced back from a crushing 1-0 home defeat to Luton Town with a sensational away win at The Hawthorns.

The midfielder continued his impressive loan spell with two strong displays in the engine room, as County remained above the drop going into the final two games of the season.

The Rams travel to Hull City next.

Scottish Premiership:

Elijah Campbell- Ross County- 10th out of 12

Campbell was afforded a week off before the top six split in the Scottish Premiership ensues, with County in the midst of a relegation scrap.

The defender faces Kilmarnock away on Saturday, with the club sitting precariously above Dundee- one point clear of their rivals.

Ligue 1:

Neal Maupay- Marseille- 2nd out of 18

Maupay was an unused substitute as Marseille leapfrogged Monaco to 2nd place with a 5-1 home win over Montpellier.

The French giants welcome Brest to the Stade Velodrome on Sunday.

Northern Premier League:

Bradley Moonan- Precot Cables- 10th out of 22

Moonan started Cables’ 3-0 victory against FC United of Manchester on Monday, as Ste Daley’s side continued their hot run of form.

The defender returns to action at Mickleover Sports this weekend for the final game of the season.
