November has now come to a close, and with that, it is time to look back on who made the difference despite a rough month for Everton in the Premier League
3rd Place – Idrissa Gueye (2 Votes)
Receiving a two votes from our Toffee Blues contributors, Idrissa Gueye makes an appearance on the Player of the Month ballot for November. Gueye played every single minute of all three November league matches, averaging a very respectable 7.33 match rating despite the blues picking up 2 losses and a draw in that time span.
This was capped off by a dynamic midfield performance against Brentford where Gueye won 9 pf his 12 ground duels, completed 85% of his passes alongside 90% of his long passes, and otherwise once again covered ground in a way only he is capable of doing.
2nd Place – Ashley Young (3 Votes)
Coming in second place with three votes in the month of November it is Ashley Young. The thirty-nine year old right back started and played every single minute of every match in the month of November. Averaging right around a 7.3 match rating, He has continued his robust play so far this season, and has proven to be one of Everton’s best players this campaign.
He has 15 interceptions on the season, has won 50 duels at an impressive 60% clip, and has turned defense into attack by creating 6 chances for the toffees this season. Young has continued to show an incredibly age-defying amount of fitness and stamina, and his 7.15 average match rating is the third highest number for the blues in the ’24-’25 campaign.
1st Place – Jordan Pickford (17 Votes)
Receiving a whopping 17 votes, Jordan Pickford is the Toffee Blues Player of the Month for the month of November. He has an average 7.6 match rating this month, supplanted by a fantastic 8.6 rating against West Ham United. His ridiculous save in the 87th minute to deny an incredulous Danny Ings was spectacular, yet a save he makes semi-regularly.
He made 12 saves across three matches in the month of November, giving up only the one goal in the match against Southampton. He has 5 clean sheets across 14 matches this season, and has saved the only penalty he has faced in league play. It seems stats can never fully paint the picture of Jordan Pickford, but he has once again been crucial in matches where Everton would have likely dropped points if not for his play. He will likely be hoping for more goal scoring help from his club, but his play for the month of November was superb, and he is the rightful Player of the Month.
