4th Place – Dwight McNeil (3 Votes)

Now starting to make a habit of being one of the best in Everton blue, Dwight once again finds himself in the nominations for Toffee Blues player of the month. He started in all three matches in the month of October and got an assist in Everton’s 0-2 win on the road against Ipswich Town. McNeil continues to play a crucial role for the toffees through the middle of the park, where his creative spark seems to be unlocked.

3rd Place – Michael Keane ( 4 Votes )

Michael Keane slots in at 3rd in the voting for the month of October. Due to the injury of Branthwaite, Keane started all 3 matches in the month of October. Crucially, Keane played extremely well. The blues allowed only one goal in three games, and Keane was brilliant throughout. He scored a great goal against Ipswich, his second of the season, and has partnered comfortably and familiarly with James Tarkowski. He ranks near the top of the Premier League with 38 accurate long balls, over 60% on his attempts, which has been key to firing forward Everton attacks. He is also winning tackles and intercepting passes at a high rate. Branthwaite will likely slot back in once fully healthy, the club has disclosed they do not wish to rush back the center half, but a confident and firing Michael Keane is a key tool to have for Everton this campaign.

2nd Place – Illiman Ndiaye ( 5 Votes)

Another familiar face to player of the month votes is Summer signing Illiman Ndiaye. He also started in all three matches in the month of October, scoring a brilliant goal in the victory against Ipswich. He has given the toffees a dynamic and explosive attacking component with the ball at his feet, and has a thunderous finish in his locker as well. His pace and ability to beat defenders off the dribble is something Everton has not had at their disposal in quite a long while, and him and McNeil’s continued spearheading of the attack has played a crucial role in Everton’s continued effort to distance themselves from the drop.

1st Place – Ashley Young ( 10 V0tes )

The Toffee Blues Player of the Month for October, Ashley Young. There are several periods of time during Ashley Young’s tenure with Everton that this would have been extremely hard to believe. Now, however, he has become a beacon of consistency in the side. He has played a full 90 minutes six straight Premier League games, contributing 3 assists and matching up with some of the paciest attackers in the game at the ripe age of 39. He has not been rated below a 7.0 on FotMob, and has created 7 big chances for Everton this season.

With the struggles of full back partner Vitaly Mykolenko, it has been huge that Everton has gotten strong production out of Young. This become even more important when considering that Seamus Coleman has been and continues to not be regularly available to Sean Dyche for selection. His continued form will be extremely vital to this Everton side continuing to defend at a high level.
