Everton have today been linked to a move for Middlesbrough Defender, Rav van den Berg. According to TBR Football Everton are one of a number of Premier League teams with an interest in Middlesbrough’s star Defender.
Middlesbrough signed the 19 year old Dutchman last Summer for an undisclosed fee from PEC Zwolle. He has had a standout season with Boro and gained a lot of plaudits as well as being crowned their Player and Young Player of the Season
TBR Football state that Tottenham, Brentford, Brighton, West Ham and the blues all hold an interest in van den Berg but Tottenham seem the most advanced and are weighing up to make an offer this Summer.
Toffee Blues says;
2/5 – Everton are in a difficult financial position this Summer so big spending or bidding wars are not likely to be happening. The blues’ Defence department is likely to have a bit of a reshuffle with Jarrad Branthwaite continuously being linked away to big money moves, Mason Holgate returning back from his loan, Michael Keane’s future and possibly the future of other bit part players like Ben Godfrey. Rav van den Berg looks to be a bright gem from the Championship who could be a good young replacement for Branthwaite IF he were to leave the club this Summer.
