Everton have been linked to Hoffenheim Midfielder, Dennis Geiger. The 24 year old German midfielder was linked to the blues via a report from Sky Sports Germany.
Geiger has started 15 games for Hoffenheim this season scoring one goal and assisting two. Hoffenheim are currently sitting 11th so far in the Bundesliga table. The report from Sky Germany states that Everton and Benfica are the top clubs named that are interested in signing Geiger who’s contract expires at the end of the season. Clubs in Germany are also said to be monitoring his situation.
The Centre Midfielder is said to be leaning towards a move away but Sky have also said they could imagine him signing a contract extension at the club….
Everton’s midfielder options currently consist of; Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye, Alex Iwobi, James Garner, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Tom Davies so they are not short of options so far in the middle of the park.
Toffee Blues says;
1/5 – Yeah this report seems like a whole lot of nothing. Yes, there is ‘interest’ from clubs but then Sky Germany say they could imagine him signing a contract extension. Possibly the player’s agent using Everton’s name to try get a higher wage elsewhere? Everton might have some interest in the player but the blues as listed before still have a lot of options in midfield and it would be adding another midfielder to the mix who doesn’t really add many goals to the team. However with the contracts of Abdoulaye Doucoure and Tom Davies expiring in the summer it still could be one to watch ever so slightly.
