The Mirror have reported that Everton have made a bid in the region of £22 million for unsettled Barcelona defender Lucas Digne. Juventus and Bayern Munich are also rumoured to be interested in the French international but it is Everton who have lodged an official bid. Digne is seeking a move away from Spain due to a lack of first team minutes that saw him dropped by Deschamps’ World Cup winning side. Digne made several appearances in qualifiers but was overlooked for the final squad.
However, Barcelona allegedly are not particularly open to selling the Frenchman due to him being the understudy to Spanish left-back Jordi Alba, and that losing Digne would cause a lack of depth in that position. Paul Joyce confirmed that Everton had an interest in Barcelona duop Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne to bolster their defensive options as both seek a move away from the Catalonian giants.
Yerry Mina’s agent confirmed that he had been in contact with Marcel Brands over the potential signing of the Colombian but that is all that we know at the moment. With just under 3 weeks left of the transfer window, Brands and Silva appear to be accelerating towards the deadline whilst securing their top targets for the summer.
