Everton have been linked to a move for Juventus and Belgium Defender, Koni De Winter according to Tuttomercato.
The 21 yea old Belgian is currently on loan to 777 Partners owned, Genoa in Serie A this season and has played 24 times. TuttoMercato state that Everton and fellow Premier League side Wolves are interested in signing the Defender but Everton are the team that hold the advantage.
Genoa currently have an obligation to buy De Winter for €8M from Juventus should Genoa stay in Serie A come the end of the season as well as if De Winter makes a certain number of appearances. Genoa currently sit 12th so it seems a certainty that Genoa will sign Koni De Winter.
Due to the Defender’s performances this season he has attracted interest and it is expected he could make a move after signing for Genoa in the summer and Genoa could look to make a profit on the player’s rising stock.
With 777 Partners owning Genoa and with the American firm possibly taking over the blues it would seem that a deal to sign De Winter would be pretty straightforward. Everton already have numerous Defenders on their books but with rumours linking Jarrad Branthwaite away and also the Toffees looking to cutdown some of their surplus players they could look to strengthen the Defence.
Toffee Blues Says;
Everton could very well look to sign a Defender this summer and Koni De Winter is a player that has been linked with a move to the blues before so the club do hold interest in the player. Links to 777 could potentially make the deal eaiser for the toffees should their takeover of Everton go through. This is one that we will have to comeback to and assess in the summer but this link doesn’t seem too farfetched.
