Everton in competition to sign Leicester City Midfielder?

Leicester City Midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City Midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi this summer with the Nigerian’s contract expiring.

According to Tutto Juve ,Everton are battling with Juventus, West Ham, Sevilla, Crystal Palace, Getafe and Fenerbache for the 27 year old’s signature this Summer with him being a free agent.

Everton are expected to have a number of first team midfielders leave this Summer with Idrissa Gueye, Gomes and Dele’s contracts expiring that is without mentioning the liklihood that Amadou Onana could be set for a big money move away.

Ndidi moved to Leicester City from Genk in 2017 and has made 265 appearances for the Foxes and scored 15 goals. A defensive midfielder with an engine who can collect the ball and look to push Everton up the pitch.

Toffee Blues says;

2/5 – With Wilfred Ndidi’s contract expiring this summer it could be a potential coup for Everton if they were able to get Ndidi to sign. With midfield likely to be an area where Everton are looking to improve upon adding the Nigerian to the squad would be a great start to business this Summer with midfield outgoings looking very likely.

If Idrissa Gueye is to leave this Summer with Everton choosing not to activate the 12 month extension to his contarct, Ndidi would be an ideal replacement for the Seneglese midfielder proving to be a younger and likely cheaper option when it comes to wages.

However with Everton currently fighting relegation and other admirers of Ndidi being in a more stable and promising League position Everton would have a hard job convincing Wilfred Niddi why a move to Everton is the right one. A deal that I think would be perfect for the blues but unfortunately I just can’t see it happening.
