Everton need to improve their attacking options as every Evertonian and Manager Frank Lampard already knows. The blues lack of goals has been a concern throughout the season with no consistent goal scorer or chance creator in the squad.
Everton have been linked to Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga numerous times over the past week and now James Ducker from The Telegraph has said that the Swedish Winger is Everton’s “Main target” for the January Transfer Window.
Elanga has only started six times for Man United this season and has fallen out of favour due to the rise of Alejandro Garnacho. The 20 year old has played 45 times for United’s First team and scored 4 goals and got 3 assists.
Ducker has said that Manchester United want to sign a Forward to add to their squad before they allow Elanga to leave. We already know that there are several clubs interested in the Swede as well as Everton.
Toffee Blues says;
4/5 – While Everton are in need of attacking options Anthony Elanga is a name that most Evertonian’s were probably not hoping for. Looking at Elanga’s goal contribution numbers they are pretty similar already to the Wingers that Everton already have.
Everton only have one domestic loan space left and they need to assess their options well before they use it. Any player that comes into the squad now must contribute with goals and assists in order to push the blues up the table and away from danger.
Links to Elanga have been very strong the past week so it does seem Everton must have some solid interest for the young winger so I would not be surprised to see Everton take up this option and sign Elanga to add more depth to the attacking options. This is rumour is one to keep an eye on…
