The Daily Mirror have reported that Everton have turned down a bid in the region of £12 million from RB Leipzig for Ademola Lookman following a successful loan spell in the Bundesliga. Sam Allardyce allowed Lookman to join Leipzig on a half-season loan in January after failing to guarantee consistent starts at Goodison despite constantly denying a departure for the young English talent.
Lookman went on to score 5 goals and registered 4 assists in 11 appearances, showing Allardyce why he should’ve been starting at Goodison and new duo Marco Silva and Marcel Brands will look to persuade the 20-year-old that his future remains on Merseyside.
Even if Lookman has no desire to stay at Everton in the coming season, £12 million is nowhere near enough for one of the most promising talents on the wing in England at the moment and Brands should realistically be listening to bids no less than £25 million.
