In a summer full of contradicting statements and rumours from “reliable” sources, RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has claimed this:
“We’re still in talks over Ademola Lookman – we want him back and he wants to come. We’re also looking at something in central midfield, whether that’s a no. 6, 8 or 10.”
This statement clearly outlines Leipzig’s desire to make another bid for Lookman, after their previous £12 million efforts was allegedly rejected by Everton and the German outfit also claim that the young English winger wants a move to the Bundesliga on a permanent basis. After the shambles of last season in which there was no clear project for the club, Lookman was allowed to leave on loan after failing to nail down a spot in Allardyce’s starting 11 and now he is rumoured to be seeking a move away.
Brands is reported to want to keep Lookman at Everton and will refuse any offers no matter the value. Lookman should be part of Everton’s plans going forwards after asserting himself as a quality young talent and despite Rangnick’s attempts to unsettle him, Brands and Silva should be making it a priority to keep the winger on Merseyside.
