Following Pickford’s standout performances at thew 2018 World Cup, Everton’s number 1 was briefly claimed to have interest from German giants Bayern Munich. These rumours have since been dismissed by Sky Sports as they claim although Bayern ‘had scouts’ at the tournament to watch Pickford, they no longer have an interest in signing the Everton ‘keeper. This was bound to happen following Pickford’s penalty heroics combined with brilliant saves against Sweden but Evertonians can now rest at ease – despite the original rumour probably lacking any substance.
This also follows former Everton boss David Moyes’ comments urging Pickford to remain loyal to Everton following his highlight performances which saw England reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia.
