Following on from the disappointing news from Sky Italia that Malcom had agreed to join Roma as he would prefer a move toItaly, the Daily Mail have claimed that Richarlison is to move to Everton. The fee is believed to be somewhere in the region of £50 million which has left plenty of fans disappointed that this could be the first signing of Marco Silva’s management. Despite the 21-year-old’s scintillating form at the beginning of the 2017/18 season for Watford, Richarlison somewhat tailed off towards the end of the campaign following Marco Silva’s sacking.
The Brazilian registered 5 goals and 4 assists across all competitions last season in what appeared to be a re-invigorated side under Marco Silva. However, Watford and Richarlison’s form simultaneously dropped when Everton made an approach for the Portuguese manager which unsettled certain players in the team.
t5here are two ways of looking at the large fee for Richarlison. Option one is that Brands and Silva are sweating over the fact that the transfer deadline is weeks away and after allegedly missing out on targets such as Malcom and Zaha, this is somewhat of a panic buy. Option two is that Marco Silva was hugely impressed with Richarlison’s potential ability last season and trusts that the young winger can relay it into a full season on Merseyside. Either way, this deal could still be days away form being complete if it even eventually goes through.
