According to reports by TeamTalk.Com Everton have apparently shown interest in signing 32 year old free agent and Portugal international Miguel Veloso.
Veloso is able to play as a defensive midfielder or even in defence as a left back if needed. He is a free agent after leaving Italian club Genoa earlier this month. It was his second stint at the club after first signing for them in 2010 making 53 appeatnces and scoring 3 goals, before a move to Dynamo Kyiv materialised in 2012 where he stayed up until 2016 playing in 127 games for Kyiv scoring 14 goals. He then returned to Genoa in 2016 playing 48 times in the 2 seasons scoring 2 goals.
Veloso has good amount of experience and has 56 caps for the Portuguese national side.
Everton face some competition for Veloso’s signature as Wolves are also said to be interested. Both Marco Silva and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo know the player well and both would really like the player in their squad.
Veloso could add a good amount of defensive depth to the squad but Everton already with a number of players that could fill the role Veloso could do we think a move for the free agent isn’t likely to happen.
