Tierney Interest Ended?

Reports emerged earlier that Kieran Tierney was a number one priority for Marco Silva’s new-look Everton, however it is now understood that the Blues have been discouraged by Celtic’s asking price. The Liverpool Echo have stated that Everton are unwilling to pay over the odds for the young left-back and if the Scottish Champions are not interested in accepting Everton’s £25 million valuation, there will be no deal.

It is understood that due to this breakdown in communications, Everton will no longer be pursuing the 21-year-old and have no interest in entering a bidding war with the Hoops. With names such as Bundesliga duo Marvin Plattenhardt and Wendell previosuly being lined up with a move to the Toffees, this will not be the end of Everton’s search for a replacement to Leighton Baines.

Although Everton are yet to make any moves in this Summer window, Marcel Brands is working hard out of the view of the public eye, with Ramiro Funes Mori’s exit being completely unreported until the official confirmation by the club. As well as this, the management team’s priority seems to offloading players in order to reduce the size of the squad that was allowed to become overgrown under Steve Walsh.
