Striker Dominic Calvert Lewin is backing himself to get a call up to the England senior side.
The striker is Everton’s top assister in the Premier League this season with 5 assists, while also scoring the 4 goals.
Dom has said – “It’s my dream to play for England at senior level. I do believe I’m ready. I back myself. I believe in my ability. The more I play, the more goals I will score and will become more prolific. I do believe I can play for England at some point.”
While there has been rumours about him getting an England Senior call up he’s said how he needs to start affecting games – “I know there was speculation about the seniors, but I need to be scoring goals and affecting games.”
DCL is obviously determined to better himself and Everton as extra training sessions with Big Dunc – “I work a lot with Duncan after training, on finishing drills and how to become a better player.
He even has his eyes drifting a little towards the World Cup which would be a massive achievement for the young striker if he manages to grab a squad number in Gareth Southgates England team – “After this international break, I will go back to my club and hopefully score a few goals, and who knows what could happen regarding the World Cup?”
DCL’s (and countless other Everton prospects) England U21’s play Ukraine U21’s at Dominic’s hometown of Sheffield.
