Former Everton midfielder Darron Gibson is currently training with EFL Championship club Wigan Athletic.
“Gibbo” when in Everton’s match day Squad was a decent little player for Everton and when he first joined he had an impressive stat where he wasn’t on a losing side for Everton in over 15+ appearances. Sadly his injuries kept him out of the squad all too much
Gibson left Everton back in 2017 and joined up with former Everton Manager David Moyes. Gibson couldn’t help with Sunderland’s Premier League survival though and was relegated with the club. He stayed with Sunderland for the 2017/2018 season but he didn’t help much with Sunderland getting relegated to League 1 football.
In 2018 Gibson after being charged with driving with excess alcohol in March 2018 Gibson was suspended by the club, before leaving by mutual consent less than a fortnight later.
Darron has been taken on trial by Wigan Athletic for the preseason and featured in a game against Liverpool U21’s yesterday and is set to feature today in Wigan’s friendly against Tranmere Rovers.
Here’s hoping Darron is now on the straight and narrow and can continue on with his footballing career.
