Match Report| Everton 3-1 Crystal Palace

It surely couldn’t get any worse than that absolute bag of shite at Arsenal last week, could it? Especially against Palace who, after being a decent run of form, were still shit and we should batter these.

Mangala was to make his home debut alongside Keane. Coleman and Martina played either side of the centre halves in the full back positions. Davies, Gueye and Rooney formed to make a midfield 3, with Walcott and Sigurðsson out wide and Niasse leading the line ahead of Tosun, who must fall over the ball in training. Why’ve we paid all that money for someone to sit on the bench? Fuck off Walsh.

No Zaha for them meant Martina didn’t have to worry about spending half the game on his arse, Townsend came in for him and he’s shit.

The first half wasn’t the most entertaining but Everton looked the more likely to score. Sigurðsson did well to lose his man and shoot from distance but his shot was saved brilliantly by Hennessy. Gueye did something similar but his shot went just wide of the post. I’ve got to mention Walcott as well cos he was absolutely all over the place. Hands down the best player we’ve got at the moment, always looks a threat going forward. Him and Lookman in the years to come please, Fonseca.

Palace had the ball in the net when Benteke headed home but he was offside and he nearly knocked Pickford out. Mangala was forced off through injury just before half time as well. Like I said, a boring half but we were the better team.

Another game, another just before or just after half time Sigurðsson goal missed. Standing in the concourse and all of a sudden the Gwladys Street are cheering and we’re 1-0 up. I still haven’t seen the goal so I can’t tell you what it was like. Still though, it was probably from outside the area cos Gylfi Sigurðsson scored it.

It was 2-0 5 minutes later when Martina did well to nick the ball off the defender and cross into the head of Niasse, who completely miscued his header and nodded it in the complete opposite direction he first intended to. Can’t describe him me, probably the worst technical football player I’ve ever seen grace a football field yet he’s been involved in 9 goals this season and is our second highest scorer. Madness.

Palace had a few chances of their own, some well saved by Pickford and Benteke directed a header inches wide of the post but they never really threatened us and the game was put to bed on 75 minutes when Davies notched his first goal in nearly a year as he lashed it home from about 6 yards after a decent save from Hennessy was palmed into his path. 3-0. 3 points. Job done.

A moment of controversy on 80 minutes when Gueye was replaced by Morgan Schneiderlin who was showered with boos from some of our fans. I never boo, not even if we get beat 5-1 by Arsenal. I can understand when people do but I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Were they booing Allardyce for such a stupid substitution or were they actually booing their own player? Don’t get me wrong he’s been absolute Chernobyl this season but booing him won’t make him any better.

We conceded a penalty when Williams handled a Benteke overhead kick and Milivojevic dispatched the effort, just. I normally get nervous when a team scores towards the end cos yeno it’s Everton but not Palace, they were awful yesterday. We barely got out of second gear, not like we ever do anyway but we didn’t need to yesterday.

After the game the papers were reporting that Steve Walsh’s position is under review and we’re looking at Paulo Fonseca for next season. What a time to be alive. Fuck off Walsh and fuck off Allardyce.

Up the toffees
