Playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson could possibly miss the rest of the season and the World Cup in Russia due to a knee injury.
Monday morning rumours were circulating from Icelandic media saying that the club record transfer signing picked up a knee injury on Saturday against Brighton but he carried on playing. The injury is said to be damaged or torn knee ligaments.
Everton later confirmed that Gylfi will be seeing a specialist this evening to look at the injury so that a timeframe on his recovery can be made.
Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as first feared for Gylfi who’s performances have improved over the last few months.
